Três Lagoas - State of Mato Grosso do Sul

     The municipality of Três Lagoas is located in the eastern part of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. The city was founded in June 15th 1915 and is currently the state’s third largest with a population of 105 thousand inhabitants, according to estimates made by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in 2012. Três Lagoas is close to the cities of Água Clara, Brasilândia, Selvíria, Aparecida do Taboado and, in the neighboring state of São Paulo, Castilho, Ilha Solteira, Andradina. Campo Grande, the capital of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, is 339 kilometers away. Nicknamed the City of Waters, Três Lagoas has recently been known as the “World Capital of Pulp” due to the growth of the sector in the last years, the transition from an agricultural city to an industrial one and the boom of eucalyptus plantations in the region.

Forestry sector in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul

  • Multimodal logistics infrastructure, which enables access to the main consumers of forest products in the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Goiás and Mato Grosso and major ports;

  • Land properties, 60% of which with 500 hectares or more, facilitate forestry operations; 

  • Excellent relief and weather conditions, with high land use ratio;

  • Government incentives.
